What is the difference between antique and vintage furniture?
An antique piece is more than 100 years old, handmade from solid wood, with patina and the value of an original. Vintage furniture is younger, usually from the 50s to the 80s, and carries the style of its time. At KROKI you will mostly find antique furniture from the 19th century.
Is the furniture restored?
Every piece is checked and, where needed, restored in our Sofia workshop by a craftsman with more than 20 years of experience. We keep the patina and the original character and make it sturdy for daily use. Every listing states the condition.
Can I see the furniture in person?
Yes, visits to the Sofia workshop are possible by appointment. Message us on Viber or call and we will set a time that suits you.
How do I get the furniture?

Can you hold a piece for me?

What does "Coming soon" mean?
These are pieces already chosen in the Netherlands or in the workshop that are not ready for sale yet. You can ask about them and reserve them in advance.
What does "solid wood furniture" mean?
Solid wood furniture is made from natural timber such as oak or walnut, not from chipboard or MDF with foil. Solid wood is heavier and sturdier and can be restored many times. Many old pieces combine solid wood with fine wood veneer, which is also a mark of quality.
What is the difference between "antikvarni" and "starinni" furniture?
In everyday Bulgarian the two words are often used as if they mean the same. "Antikvarna" usually means a piece over 100 years old with collector value, while "starinna" is a broader word for old furniture with character. At KROKI you will mostly find Dutch furniture from the 19th century.
Why is Dutch furniture so sought after?
Dutch furniture from the 19th century was mostly made from solid oak and walnut with hand-cut joints and a sturdy build, so it still lasts and restores well today. Many buyers in Bulgaria look for "furniture from Holland" for the solid wood and the quality.
